More details about this position opportunity kindly see the descriptions. Oversight of the clinical work of the assigned school nurses and school health assistants in school sites. Interacts and trains pediatric residents through rotations i! n the school nursing sites. Ensures that mandatory screenings are completed in a timely manner with a majority of the students receiving the necessary screening by assigned nursing staff. Ensures that all nurses are completing requests for initial health assessments, individualized health plans, and emergency care plans by assigned staff. Meets with pupil appraisal services and ESS personnel to provide more timely communication at the school building level. Meets regularly with the nursing leadership team. Sets up audit procedures that assist nurses to increase their level of documentation and follow-ups with students in their care for assigned nurses. Ensures that assigned nurses are providing follow-ups for ancillary providers (i.e., dentists, optometrists, etc.) to ensure completion of referrals. Ensure that nurses are providing SHA with weekly supervision over the work that they are doing. Participates in the training of Health Centers in Schools staff. Advises the DON ! of any concerns that are occurring in the work of the school n! urses. Directs major projects of the organization in conjunction with other leadership team members or staff.
Experience/Education
Bachelor of Nursing degree or Associate degree with a minimum of 3 -5 years of work in the field of nursing
Licensure
Current unrestrited Registered Nurse License by the State of Louisiana
