Job Concepts:
Function of Work: To serve as the Regional Administrator and Medical Director for the Off! ice of Public Health in Region 3. Region 3 encompasses 7 parishes: Terr! ebonne, St. Mary, Assumption, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles, and Lafourche.
Supervision Received: Direct supervision from the Office of Public Health Medical Director.
Examples of Work:
Provides administrative and clinical oversight of public health programs and policies such as infectious disease control and prevention, personal health services, and public health preparedness for the Department of Health and Hospitals in Region 3. Conducts personal health medical clinics and treats patients in accordance with appropriate medical practice and applicable Office of Public Health protocols.
Assumes a medical and clinical leadership role in emergency preparedness activities, including but not limited to operating Medical Special Needs Shelters. Serves as the public information officer for the Office of Public Health regarding public health issues in Region 3 Serves as the appointing authority for all human resource, civil s! ervice, budget and fiscal matters for personal health in Region 3.
