Registered Nurse - PRN

Location: Shreveport, Louisiana

Description: Shriners Hospitals for Children is hiring Registered Nurse - PRN right now, this position will be situated in Louisiana. For complete informations about this position opportunity kindly see the descriptions. Initiates and implements individualized care plan within 24 hours of patient's admission. Ensures the care plan reflects current patient needs/goals based on ongoing assessments. Incorpo! rates patient's age, developmental level, and psychosocial evaluation.
Ensures patient's plan of care reflects age and developmentally appropriate strategies to deal with patient/parent problems and concerns.
Performs age/developmental level patient/family education regarding discharge plans, pre-op care, postop care, cast care, etc. Begins instruction on admission and reinforces throughout the hospital stay as evidenced by plan of care, discharge sheets, and nurses' notes.
Demonstrates quality of care through age/developmental level appropriate written plan of care and nurses' notes and SHCIS as per nursing standards.
Performs lab utilizing I-stat, accurately and efficiently.
Involves child and family in implementation and evaluation of care as evidenced by feedback from patients, parents, and documentation in nurses' notes.

Job Requirements

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required. Licensure may s! ubstitute for degree.
Two (2) years of pediatric or orthop! edic experience preferred
Must be PALS certified or obtain within one (1) year of hire
Current Louisiana Registered Nurse Licensure required
Must be PALS certified or obtain within one (1) year of hire
Experience with basic medical equipment preferred
