Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, Louisiana, is seeking several board eligible or certified, Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians to join our growing team. The 8 member division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine operates a rapidly growing 8-bed dedicated ED which cares for the full range of acuity 24/7. Our team currently comprises 4 BE/BC PEM physicians and 4 general pediatricians with years of PEM experience. Our goal is to transition to a staffing model which includes with a least one PEM physician on every shift. Both newly trained and experienced physicians are encouraged to apply.
Ochsner Hospital for Children and its rapidly growing department of Pediatrics comprise over 140 physicians. The group is the region’s leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric care from primary to quaternary care, with services offered in all subspecialties including advanced complex interventional cardiology and congenial heart surgery, gastroenterology/hepatology, orthopedic surgery, oncology and heart, liver and bone marrow transplant.as well as: Allergy, Cardiology, Critical Care Medicine, Dermatology, ENT, Endocrinology, Emergency Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Hospital Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Medical Genetics, Neonatology, Nephrology/Hypertension, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Epileptology, Ophthalmology/Optometry, Orthopedics, Physiatry/Sports Medicine, Craniofacial and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Psychiatry, Pulmonology, General Pediatric Surgery, Transplant, and Urolo gy. Ochsner for Children also has a Pediatric Anesthesiology Team, Pediatric CV Surgery Anesthesia Team and Pediatric Radiology. We also collaborate with our nationally recognized adult partners to provide young adult transitional care in a variety of specialties.
Ochsner Hospital for Children operates a dedicated pediatric emergency department, a 36 bed pediatric unit, 14 bed level I PICU, 50 bed level IV regional referral NICU, and a 12 bed CVICU with in-house intensivists and full time pediatric hospitalist medicine service. Our team serves a broad geographic area encompassing the entire Gulf South region by leveraging a system of satellite clinics and, extensive telemedicine capabilities, as well as a dedicated, full-time, pediatric transport team providing ground, rotary and fixed wing transports across the entire region.
The department of pediatrics is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric residency progr am, as well as medical students from 2 universities.
