Program Manager, Technical Commercial (Medical Markets) [Switzerland]


 

Opportunity for a Technical Commercial Program Manager to join the Market Team supporting the assigned Medical Markets and at times other significant opportunities. The role is a mix of project management and application support and will track each project based on customer and target application need as defined in Portescap strategic plans.

What You’ll Do

  • Map and Scope the technical motion requirements based on type of application and be able to recommend technical solutions. This includes calculating and simulating Portescap solutions under customer requirements.
  • Engage with customer to fully understand end product requirements and make recommendations on motion solutions. Translate Voice of Customer into Voice of Design technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with customer and Portescap Business Development Managers to create competitive advantage and value for their end-user.
  • Visit customers at key program milestones to ensure continued fulfillment of customer requirements and understanding of how to gain/maintain competitive lead.
  • Manage customer program and coordinate with Portescap resources through the customer Production Qualification stage, maintain and report on corresponding program status, and coordinate content on CRM tool.
  • Work with cross functional team to ensure financial viability of proposed solution.
  • Support the Business Development Manager in the development and presentation of business cases, as part of the Project Planning Group, to the organization for custom-product program investments.
  • Work with cross functional team to develop and present technical-commercial proposals to customers.
  • Collect customer and market requirement trends and work with cross functional team to guide product roadmap.
  • Visit Portescap Manufacturing and Design locations once per quarter.
  • Coordinate with other Program Managers and Application Engineers on related processes.
  • Along with those identified above, other duties may be assigned.


Critical Competencies

  • Fluent in English. Additional languages a plus: French/German preferred.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (30%) within the designated markets and production facilities
  • Ability to effectively work remotely from supervisor
  • Must be able to develop relationships at all levels
  • Must be able to work closely with R&D teams (Europe, India, North America), PLMs, Global Manufacturing and Quality teams while remote

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Electro-mechanical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline is required
  • Three to five years of front-line sales experience (Application Engineer, Field engineer, Project manager or other similar role) in the Medical Market
  • Experience within the motion control industry is preferred
