Our customers are Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and many of the MNT benefits are not provided via online portals.
The candidate will be responsible with obtaining thorough, accurate and detailed descriptions of the MNT benefits for patients requesting the service. Phone calls to health insurance companies to verify benefits for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) accounts for ~25% of job responsibilities.
They will also assist in retrieving payment details and A/R management for claims and updating accounts, working directly under a Billing Specialist, ~75% of job responsibilities.
Experience with calling benefit and eligibility departments for all insurance companies including but not limited to Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and others is required.
An existing office/home office with secure internet, phone, and HIPAA compliant security measures is required.
This position may develop into a billing position.
Knowledge of online portals such as Availity, Navinet, UHCProvider, and others is required.
Experience with EOB/ERAs, EMRs, Office Ally, Google Suite (Sheets/Docs/Calendar) required.
Skills required: organized, self-starter, coachable, team player, customer-service focused.
Knowledge of Medical Nutrition Therapy is a plus ++++
