The Phlebotomist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patient served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess date reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her neonate, pediatric, adolescent or geriatric needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s department policies and procedures. EDUCATION - TRAINING - EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum High school Graduate or equivalent. 2. Phlebotomy course at accredited facility or phlebotomy experience. 2. Certified as phlebotomy technician by ASPT or ASCP.
