Plans, organizes, and conducts speech therapy treatment programs based upon!
evaluation and assessment and medical referral. Maintains patient care records,
evaluates the patient's response to treatment and recommends treatment plan
changes. Participates in inservice and continuing education programs.
Participates in special departmental programs, clinical education, research, and
writing of professional papers. Assists with program development/enhancement.
Demonstrates actions consistent with Ochsner's guiding principles as duties are
performed on a daily basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A. Education, Experience and Training:
Master's Degree with Certification of Clinical Competence from American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). CPR Health Care Provider. A
minimum of three to five years experience with pediatric and adult populations.
B. Other Qualifications:
Current Louisiana Speech Pathologist license or eligibility for licensure by
examination or reci! procity from another state.
C. Physical Demands:
Ability to move about freely and transport students in wheelchairs as required for
up to 50% of the work time.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
A. Performs age and diagnosis appropriate evaluations and treatment.
B. Maintains patient records according to documentation standards, policies and
procedures.
C. Demonstrates flexibility in overall department needs and actively participates
in staff and committee projects.
D. Takes responsibility for professional development, required training.
E. Participates in the education and training of speech therapy students.
