Description General Job Summary The Speech Pathologist is responsible for and plans, organizes, and conducts speech therapy t! reatment programs based upon evaluation and assessment and medical referral; maintains patient care records; evaluates the patient's response to treatment and recommends treatment plan changes and participates in in-service, continuing education programs, special departmental programs, clinical education, research, and writing professional papers. The Speech Pathologist assists with program development/enhancement.
Required Qualifications Education / Certifications / Licensure / Specialized Training Master's Degree
Certification of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
CPR Health Care Provider
Experience / Skills Three to five years experience with pediatric and adult populations.
Preferred Qualifications Experience / Skills / Competencies Current Louisiana Speech Pathologist license or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state. Essential Position Duties 1. Performs age and diagnosis! appropriate evaluations and treatment.
2. Maintains patie! nt records according to documentation standards, policies and procedures.
3. Participates in staff and committee projects.
4. Takes responsibility for professional development, required training.
5. Participates in the education and training of speech therapy students.
