Description
The Charge Nurse shall be responsible for planning, supervising, and evaluating the nursing care of essential functions of patients and f! or correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and policies. Under general supervision, renders professional nursing care of patients of all ages through the use of the Nursing process and the promotion, maintenance, and teaching of health. Supervises the provision of nursing care rendered to patients by RN'' LPN'' ORT'' and CST'' and ancillary personnel, assigning and reviewing work. Provides instruction on various techniques. Assist nurse manager in areas delegated. Provided peri-operative care to all age groups. Assist in departmental budgets and staffing. Establishes an effective day to day operational schedule with the OR, PACU, CS, and Anesthesia staff to provide efficient flow and completion of surgery schedule. Represents the department in all aspects of customer service.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Certifications / Licenses:
Must have a valid license to practi! ce professional nursing
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support! certification or obtain within 6 months of hire
Current Advanced Life Support or obtain within 6 months of hire
Experience:
Minimum of three years clinical experience as med/surg RN preferred
